Privacy policy

HausKlaar needs no account and stores none of your inputs on our server. This page explains which data is processed anyway, why, and what rights you have.

2. Hosting and server logs

The website runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, in Germany. Hetzner processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).

For every request the server records, for technical reasons: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the status code and the amount of data sent. This keeps the service secure and lets us find faults (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The logs are not analysed or combined with other data. They are kept in a file that is continuously overwritten once it reaches 10 MB; depending on traffic, entries remain for a few days up to a few weeks.

3. Cookies and browser storage

The site sets one technically necessary session cookie that protects the forms against misuse (CSRF protection). It does not identify you and is deleted when you close the browser.

Scenarios you save and your choice of light or dark theme are kept by your browser in local storage. This data does not leave your device and is not sent to us; you can delete it at any time on the Saved scenarios page or in your browser settings. The legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, because you use these features on purpose.

4. Visitor statistics with Cloudflare Web Analytics

To understand which pages are used we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It receives the page visited, the referring page, browser and device type, load times and your IP address, from which Cloudflare derives the country; no user profile is created. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in designing the site around how it is used (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer to the USA rests on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy .

5. What we don't do

Your inputs into the calculators are only used for the calculation and are not stored. There are no accounts, no ads, no tracking across other websites and no sharing with third parties. Fonts and all other files are loaded from our own server.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Contact us at the address above.

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
